Cafe Majestic serves contemporary and classic fine Italian cuisines 5-9pm Tuesday-Saturday. Chef Garcia has recently relaunched his Italian menu to include some new dishes such as Rack of Lamb with a mint jelly, and Trout Meuniére. Due to their popularity in our neighborhood, Chef has kept some of his classic recipes such as Chicken or Egg Plant Parmesan, Fillet of Dover Sole, and all our colorful pasta dishes!
Finally, on Sundays, Cafe Majestic turns into the neighborhood Brunch favorite from 7am-12:30pm. Serving Egg Benedicts, other Egg Specials, and of course the classics!
The dining room fits 72 as is for a sit down event but can host a 100-person baby shower, birthday party or wedding reception. New manager came in a little over 1 year ago with a new focus to make the place event friendly. Now there are baby showers, family reunions, surprise birthday parties, holiday parties, wedding receptions, paint nights, cocktail camps, professional and social mixers, held regularly at our Cafe.
Butterfly Lounge is a full bar and lounge open from 5-11pm Tuesday-Saturday kicking off the evening with Happy Hour (5-7pm)! Masterfully created fresh cocktails, some using real smoke for flavor are an instant favorite.

History

Established in 1907.
In November 1907 when the restaurant and lounge were first built, the Cafe Majestic was conceptualized to be the finest dining experience in San Francisco! Today, new ownership has taken over and wish to restore an elevated dining experience to our local patrons and world-travelers!
We've relaunched our menu to add some exciting new flavors and kept some local favorites! Since the Cafe Majestic is located inside of Hotel Majestic, at 1500 Sutter Street.
Our New Manager has taken over a little over 1 year ago with a focus of events. Now hosting private events like: paint night, pop ups, family re union, surprise birthday parties, wedding receptions etc this new vision has lead to many exciting times

My career actually started out in the hotel business, which still remains apart of my family business. However, being a passionate foodie, spoiled by San Francisco dining, I'm attempting to cultivate what seems to be a hidden restaurant and bar into one of the most elegant and affordable dining experiences for all guests here at the Cafe Majestic.
The Butterfly Lounge is one of the sexiest ever! Adorned on the walls, is biggest real collection of butterflies I've ever seen! Great mysterious cocktails energize the patrons and keep it a lively atmosphere!

  A true hidden gem with a chef that knocks it out of the park. From the perfect breakfast to the sirloin burger to the pasta dishes this beautiful historic setting hits all the notes on key. By pass all that wok stuff and get a real meal in a classy joint. Rarely do I ask for the chef to come out, tonight we did and gave him rounding applause. Walk up from Fillmore and get some some real San Francisco. Also check the great bar.

  Dined there with elderly parents after several months of avoiding it since the food previously was awul and it was clear that they were going to close. The revised menu from a new chef is quite extensive and the food was very good (ravioli, antipasto, sole dore). The wine list is a joke, however.
